Hi Rene, I’m sorry I missed this post! It may sooner than I thought, I just went to let the bigs out and there was a little on their side. Still alive, looks fine. I put her back with the other babies but definitely need to work on it!Hi IM! They are growing so fast....they will all be together soon. I hope they warm up to you quickly...bribery will do it!!![]()
Morning IM! I'm glad she was okay...do you know how she got over there?Hi Rene, I’m sorry I missed this post! I’m pretty sure I do but I’m not going to fix it because it won’t be too long and they’ll be fully integrated.Morning IM! I'm glad she was okay...do you know how she got over there?
The bigs seem to be a bit gentler though, but I’m not ready to let them spend the night together yet. The bigs are guarding resources just like chickens do, which I find interesting because a lot people have said that ducks aren’t this way. I’m not disappointed, it’s just an observation. The babies did come over to the rectangle pool to drink while I was sitting on the patio so that’s a step in the right direction. Not alone of course, they followed the bigs over.I kept the ducklings locked in until after work today. Everyone was where they should be. I reached over the barrier to get their water bucket and out they went. I spread some straw in the rough spots and will get out there on the weekend to stir litter. I sat on the edge of the patio for a while so I could observe the interaction. The bigs are like teenagers telling their younger siblings to buzz offThe bigs seem to be a bit gentler though, but I’m not ready to let them spend the night together yet. Not quite brave enough to get into the pool with the teens yet!
