Fugly Farm

Nice yard pictures! Did you work that poor grandson to the bone today?
No I didn’t work him to the bone, he still had plenty of energy for bike riding and skateboarding lol. It wasn’t a lot to get done just a bunch of small stuff that would take more time doing by myself. He did the heavy lifting and duck water.

Will you see any trick or treaters today IM? What about the grands, do they do that?

We are not handing out candy because I want to avoid people until after surgery on Thursday. Daughter is off tonight so she’s taking them around the neighborhood. Cam is Spider-Man something and no idea what Aiden will do this year.
Is this your first year for Halloween at the new house? Are you handling out candy? Or going trick or treating to get some?

Great idea, I could go as an old lady and get some candy :gig

DH was here last Halloween working on the house and said some kids came around but this will be my first year for it. I have candy ready for them! And if no one shows up, it's candy we like. :D

There you go lol. I buy stuff we don’t like because we always run out here. There’s a guy down the street that starts decorating his house and his neighbors house in August and it overflows into his backyard through his garage. He draws a huge crowd, his house is on the main road through our neighborhood to the school, so we get a lot of trick or treaters.

That reminds me of one of the contests going on right now: BYC's 2021 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along—Haunted House or Creepy Coop Contest. Some folks really go all out, there are a few around here too.

Does your neighbor do the same for Christmas?

Not usually, but last year he had The Nightmare Before Christmas out for the holidays for the first time. We will see about this year.
I’m planning to look through that thread later today to see what everyone has done. BYC folks are pretty creative!

I am thinking about putting lights on my coop this year for the winter holidays. We bought a fake tree, I hate it, this year because the cost of real ones has been insane. We didn’t ever buy before mid December and it was $50 to have a tree for just a couple of weeks last year. And it wasn’t even a fabulous looking tree. So I’m battling that bah humbug feeling already and planning to counteract it in advance lol.

There are some fantastic displays in that contest thread! I'm doing good to get a pumpkin set out on the front porch.

We've used an artificial tree the last several years. It's cheaper and because we've moved around so much, it's easy. Once you pile on all the decorations, it looks fine. (And the cats seem to enjoy it even though it's fake.)

@igorsMistress I may (or may not) have posted this in the past, but it's that time of year!
