Many years ago when I had Blue Australorps I also ended up with a black Australorp roo. I gave him to my DIL and she named him Clyde. This is his son Ozzie with my son. Ozzie was recently injured and while they were nursinghim back to health the boy was taking him outside each morning to a pen so he could see the rest of the crew, but at night the bird was inside the house in a crate. Apparently he made a really good alarm clock because he would crow back at his dad outside

Here’s Ozzie back outside with no cast. Now he can have a few girls in his pen to keep him company until he can be let out with the rest of the animals again.

Went to the park early this morning, then hubs went for supplies to build an arbor in front of the door to the shade garden. Yesterday we picked up another Carolina jessamine to grow on the arbor. I am so excited for that and hubs agrees it’ll look really good there. Slowly but surely we are creating privacy for our small patio and eliminating our view of the neighbors motor home and trailer in their backyard.
The small Arabian lilac outside the west wall is covered with new growthAlso planted more borage, didn’t see any sprouts from the last batch, and I have two grow bags to move to the shade garden with walking onions in them. Currently cleaning up the shade garden and getting stuff situated for summer. The beach party lilac, grows white flowers and not toxic, has been shipped so I finished opening and spreading bags of soil. Patrick put those into the garden for me yesterday, he’s such a good kid. I’m hoping it’ll eventually provide shade for the apple tree on summer afternoons. Time to get back to work, still need to try out the new shredder and give Frank a bath.
Ollas. Bury the pot to almost the rim, fill with water and put a saucer on top. I usually put a layer of mulch on top of the saucer also. The water will seep into the ground slowly or as needed to water plants. These will be in the shade garden around the thyme and oregano. What are you doing with the clay pots with corks in them IM? I like the arbor!
