I'm looking forward to just starting! I'm planning on raised beds for both vegetables and flowers. We found out our first day here, we have gophers (BIG gophers!) in the yard so putting anything directly into the dirt is just feeding them.

Thankfully I don't have gophers, those little things drive me crazy
But I do have prairie dogs. A gazillion of them, digging holes trying to get me to break my ankle if I'm walking outside after dark.

We had those in WY, you really have to watch where you step!

You need some indoor/outdoor cats. Boo loves gopher hunting.

Agreed! (But then I feel that way about hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and ferrets.)

My sister thinks they're adorable. But she moved out here next to me this past winter. I'm curious to see if she still finds them so cute after she has to spend her weekends filling holes all summer long
