Smoke is back,, Its 70°F outdoors at night now,,, but I hesitate opening windows. :old :idunno
Its @ 145 in my neighborhood,, and predicted to get higher as day arrives. I go outdoors with a mask on during this bad air quality. I avoid doing much outdoor activity as possible.

I hope those Canadian Fires get under control soon.:(
I normally open window overnight to cool the interior of home. Then as daytime temps climb, I close windows and turn on AC. Now I have to trap the relatively warm air inside without venting it out. Don't want the smokey air coming inside.:(

Another member in MN was talking about how smokey their air was, that map explains that. According to a story I read, over 25 million acres have burned. :(

Take care Cavey, stay inside out of the smokiness.

The sun has been up for one hour and I'm already a soppy wet mess. It isn't even hot yet, but the humidity is 90%. We are only supposed to have a high of 94 today. I'm guessing its because the sky is overcast and we have a 40% chance of rain. I hope we get some.
I’ll keep my 🤞 you get some! We went to the park this morning, when the sun came up we could feel the temperature change. There was light breeze before that, but it’s getting windy. I can hear the wind chimes.

No rain. But the temperature is pleasant. I'm guessing a big portion of the country (or world) wouldn't find the 90s pleasant, but I know your jealous. 🤣

You bet I am! I’m glad you guys got a break Janie :) We are going to shatter the record for heat advisories and number of days over 110 straight. AND the longest stretch of overnight lows in the 90’s. I don’t see an end to my ice deliveries any time soon.

Hang in there IM, things have to turn the corner at some point!

Currently 114, Elvis is in the pool. Gave everyone some fermented pigeon feed this morning. It’s lower in protein than their feed, but not too bad. I think there’s plenty of bugs for them to make it up. Gave them strawberry leftovers too.

I make an ice run each morning, but it begins to melt a little before I can get it home. This is actually a good thing because it forms a more solid chunk to put in the pool after refreezing, which melts slower than little pieces. The first bag is 10 lbs, followed up by 20 lbs two hours later for the pool. Since I can’t get block ice for some reason this year it’s a viable alternative. Unfortunately I don’t have enough freezer space to make a lot of blocks, but I do make it for their water bucket. I’m using an old food grade plastic bin to make a large block that I add first thing in the morning, then follow up with frozen water bottles later in the day.

They’re getting electrolytes every other day in a morning mash. Alternate days is the fermented pigeon feed. So far everyone seems to be doing ok. Cool dirt is their favorite thing so I’m making spots for them to bathe daily as well.

You're doing a good job of taking care of them IM.
