Fugly Farm

It's been hard, but I am thinking about it. I'm also trying to get an idea of what chick's would look like from crossing Roger with those 3 Barnevelder girl's later for next year when those egg's get big enough.

I would imagine you'd get more color than mixing with the white. I think the white overrides a lot. Those 3 chicks I hatched out from Roger and the Cowgirl are almost completely white.

Yes, it should be interesting to see though. I still have the white dark eyed hen, the cowgirl, and a white offspring of Charley's here, so I can still make the white's, too. All 3 of those girl's have been laying. Then I have the brown NN hen, and the cream NN hen that are also laying. The Barnevelder girl's are supposed to lay a darker brown colored egg once they start. I already made the green egg NN's.

I like having various shades of brown in my egg basket. Green is nice too but I'd like some blue.

To get a blue egg NN you will have to breed the green egg laying NN girl back to a Blue egg gene roo (Maybe the CCLB like I used to get the green).

Layla (granddog) got cold last night I guess. This morning she came in tail wagging and wiggled under the blankets on my bed to snuggle

I was let go from the salt mine early today so I went outside to clean the coops and water the chickens/garden.

The wee ones aren't so wee now!

The Turken cockerel has been spending the majority of his time with the big girls. I heard him tidbitting them today while I was watering.

The rest of the tween boys and the pullet are hanging out as a separate group
