I found asparagus on sale today so I bought 4 pounds. I’m going to pickle some and can some plain. Excited to try the pickled, it has been awhile since I’ve had it that way.

Igor finished one shelf yesterday and is going to do the second today. That is really going to help me manage the pantry better! It’s such a small space and things get lost in there a lot.
4 lbs of asparagus gave me three pints pickled and three pints of regular for the pantry. Not bad.

This came out rather well. Chickpeas, spinach, roasted tomatoes a few herbs with toasted hallumi cheese added for the last few minutes of cooking. Got a couple of portions in the freezer, minus the cheese which is easy to add on reheat.

Yummy! Sub the chickpeas for lentils and this is a fave of my husband. He likes it curried with some coconut cream added.

I gave the crew clean water and the ducks are bathing in their clean pool. The row cover is off the corn, now using it for the Roselle I put in, and I plopped a few more luffa seeds in as well. My leeks and potatoes are going off faster than I can use them so I’m canning a few quarts of potato leek soup for the pantry. I found this guy named Ben Starr on YouTube and he does a lot with sourdough. I made another starter so I can give his methods a try, no feeding or discarding so it’s right up my alley; the lazy alley 🤭. Hope and Cam like to help in the kitchen so I’m going to teach them to make bread when it’s ready.

That's great Hope and Cam are interested in learning kitchen stuff...those are lessons they can use forever.

Your soup sounds good!
