Funny story (:

Well most likely they would, the girls will have to work out who will be # 2, since Lucky is #1. but they will and then they will be happy. I wouldn't put a duckling in with them though.

Definitely not. I was just thinking that maybe later on, I could see about a female from the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue or one in need of a home from a BYC member. I need to start doing research on the different breeds and see what would fit our mixed family lol

ETA: What kind of pool would be best to put in their pen? I was thinking kiddie pool but wouldnt they scratch the bottom? Either way I think Ill have to put a cement block in it so they can get in and out. They dont like to even hop to get out of the tubs in my backyard now.

Geese seem to be extremely fickle creatures... The visiting Canadian Geese that are bunking with the duckies let me get within 10 feet of them. Of course this was while I had no feed and no camera... I come back 2 minutes later with feed and a camera.. they have a fit as soon as I get within 50 feet.

That would be awesome if you could adopt from Carolina Water fowl. A kiddie pool is great and what most people use. I finally bought a stock tank at TSC but I used kiddies pools for years and as long as you don't let them freeze with water in them they last a long time. and yes they will need a way to get in an out since their legs are short. lol. Mine usually jump out and onto their ramp. the ramp is for them to get into it from the out side. I also have 2 chunks of tree stump on either side for them to stand on outside .

How wide/thick is your ramp? Thanks for the advice on the kiddie pool, I'll try to get down to Walmart sometime soon. Also, Ive looked on CWR website and they have some beautiful females that are in need of homes, so once everything has settled down, Ill try to convince my mom

One more question.. what do you feed your ducks? If you feed regular chicken feed, do you feed pellets or crumbles?

The ramp going up to their pool is about 3' wide and is made out of treated 2x4's they eat pellets unless I have babies then everyone eats crumbles, I feed Purina Flock raiser because I can feed it to everyone from hatch till. Good news about CWR..

We were finally gonna finish everything and get them in the fence this weekend... and the ^#&*@(* neighbors scared them off. Apparently they dont like lawnmowers because thats all the neighbors did yesterday was mow their whole field. And now theyre no where to be found. I looked in every pond on the block, and the creek through the woods. I just hope theyre hiding out somewhere nearby and not on the next street over. They have a tendency to shoot first, ask if its the right season later..

Hoping they come back.

Still gonna build them their place just in case. If they dont come back.. maybe I can get some consolation ducklings at Chickenstock lol

Oh my gosh i hate to hear that. you didn't check the next street over? I hope they come back since they won't be able to do much if a predator finds them. I doubt very serious they flew off, maybe their just hiding out somewhere, seemed they were pretty attached to you.

Im not allowed to go over there unsupervised (crazy nut jobs with guns) and my mom wont go with me so Im stuck here wondering wheere they are... it sucks.
