There are 3 left that have not externally pipped, I know for a fact the dented egg internally pipped yesterday morning as I was able to see it rock and peep yesterday morning for sure! The two that just hatched externally pipped within 24hrs of that and within 10hrs they were born. This is a catch 22, because I saw the signs of internal pipping with the dented one, but nothing with the other 2 I'm waiting on and my gut feeling is getting those confused butterflies again, do I or do I not intervene? At least get the hole started, I do see discoloration on the 3, so maybe that is from the rolling around, or them moving around on the inside scratching the membrane, ect. My oldest son did wonder about taking the ducklings out and putting them in the brooder, because he is so anxious to hold his, and I'm anxious to, but I'm following the standards and waiting to see what happens with the other 3. I've read different posters taking babies out and putting them in the brooder while letting the ones that haven't hatched stay and didn't have any problems, as long as they do it fast. The temp is perfect and with the moisture of the cracked eggs, the humidity has gone up to 85%, and it's been 14hrs from the 1st duckling and it's not fully dried off yet same with the 2cd one.
#13 shows more discoloration around the air sac as if maybe, but the other 2, a couple here and there. So, I don't know!! Shoot, I still have to make up the vitamins before I put them in the brooder, better go do that now! But how long should I give 13?? Like I said, the window is closing. But then again these 2 stopped rocking and peeping before they externally pipped. I'm not so much worried about the 2 hurting the eggs now, it's more about my bigger thermometer/hydrometer hurting them.
