I have a hen who has been pretty ripped up by our roo. A friend and fellow chicken-lover gave me Fura-Zone to put on her injuries. The jar says "Federal law prohibits the use of this product in food-producing animals," and "For Horses Only." Do I use it anyway? Will it hurt my hen, and can I still eat her eggs?

Thanks for you help!

I don't know about egg withdrawl but I use it on my chickens and pheasants...... and I haven't died yet.

I use furazone on my horses, but I dont think I'd use on my chickens. but thats just me. furazone is a carcinogen, a cancer causing agent. And since my mother eats my eggs, and she is a breast cancer survior I dont want to
add anything that might cause harm. Even when I put it on my horses I wear gloves.

Like I said thats just me. Besides there is alot of other stuff that can be use for treatment. IMO
