has anyone used a combination of DMSO and furacin or DMSO and baytril to treat bumblefoot? How were the results?

If treating with baytril and dmso, how did you mix the solution?
I’m having no luck with triple antibiotic and was looking for something stronger.
Any comments or suggestions welcome! Thanks!

There's a blurb in one of my vet books that says not to use furacin on sounds because it can cause delayed healing or something. I will try to find that for you.

I found an article that said to mix 8 oz dmso, 4mg of dexamethasone and your topical antibiotic of choice. Now I’m stuck on which one would be best :barnie I only have baytril injectable, not topical, but figured mixing it with the dmso will be the same.

What about dmso and silver Sulfadiazine? I’ve always had good luck with that but haven’t found any info on mixing it?

I’m kind of at wits end. This has been a struggle for 4 months. (Oral abx for 2). I feel horrible for her and last night I unwrapped it and it looked worse! So this is my last attempt and then what will be will be :hit

My vet had my duck on Batryil with epsom salt soaks at night then applied DMSO for her mycoplasma in her foot.
Vet said she wanted the Batryil to really take affect by
A) keeping her inside, the warmth was going to aid recovery (we are in Michigan so the nights had been getting cold).
B) give the meds then within 15 minutes of given soaks with a really good warm water. The warmth of the water will allow that Batryil to circulate through the infection to really target the infection.
C) apply Dmso, make sure it’s warm. I would just hold some in my hand to get it warm.

The vet mentioned that she may make a dmso/ Batryil cream to apply to the infection but we never got to that point. The Batryil helped in bringing the infection more to the surface which then she could cut the infection out. And boy did that help, she got a ton out. Before the Batryil when the vet cut open her foot, she was just getting joint fluid. Top two pics are before Batryil, last 3 are after cutting out infection
