~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

(Wait who are the birds who committed treason?)
(Angel (pigeon), Bagel Bite (gull), and Lore (burrowing owl). They're all played by people who either left the rp or have been missing from byc for some time..)
“Fugitives would be a better word.” Moonlight shifted uneasily. They had never been caught in the first place.
“So would you know the location of a yellow, muffed pigeon, a gull, and of all things, a burrowing owl? They were last seen flying toward raven territory, but Blizzard tells me you know things.”
~
“Yes, I’m sure Shadow has told me all I need to know,” Earl muttered, not caring who heard him. He peered up at the cages, still shadowed in that early hour. What were those crows doing up there, and what about them did Azaz feel was important to conceal from him?

Moonlight tilted her head toward the ground. Voices?
She scrutinized Cat Eyes. Was she the kind of crow who would start a family? She supposed so. Crows were well known for their large families, so she supposed this one did too.
”Those your kids down there?” Moonlight asked, tapping her toes on the wood. Her perception on the nest changed as she realized its size could be double or triple of what she had originally thought.
But it's all so claustrophobic, she reminded herself. I like to have a view of the sky in the morning.
(Molly and Storm are above them in a hole in the trunk. Moonlight, Blizzard, and Cat-Eyes are under the roots of the tree.)

"Muffed?" Cat-Eyes questioned, a look of amusement on her face. "Well, I can certainly tell you that I've seen a gull. I've seen many gulls."
"Muffed, like feathered legs," Blizzard offered in exclamation, "And the gull.. was it injured?" He asked Moonlight. He noticed how she was examining the ceiling. He was just as surprised as Cat-Eyes at her question.
"Oh, those are my guests. A raven and her chick who wanted out of the rain." She shrugged.
---
Azaz narrowed her eyes, then slowly stretched out one of her wings. "Are you questioning our leader?" She asked, her voice soft but with a dangerous edge. She watched him closely. Earl had never been a friend of hers; she found him too independent and demanding. Still, he was a valuable asset to the cause due to his experience and strength, even in his old age.

"Now.. one asked Cat-Eyes if she has a family?" Storm looked like he was deep in tonight. He was thinking so hard that his eyes crossed. Finally, he said, "I didn't know she had a family!"

(oops.)
Moonlight froze. ”A raven? Your guests?” Her voice was slathered with disbelief. Ravens are the enemies of crows.
”Well, your ’guests’ must be happy because it's not raining anymore.”
~
”No, I'm just wondering why she's keeping valuable information from me, ” Earl said carefully. ”I feel like I should know what two crow prisoners have to do with our cause, one hardly fledged.” Bargaining chips, probably.

Meanwhile, Trout had wandered away. He was currently trying to extract a piece of hamburger from a rocky crevice. He was so engrossed in his mission that he didn't notice the others going to the water.
When he was finally finished in his impossible task, having been unable to grab the burger, he looked up. "Hey, does anyone have any-" Trout looked around wildly. "Guys?!"

"Not quite," Blizzard answered in a vague tone.
"There it is," he tucked in his wings and began a downward descent towards an old, large oak. He landed at the immense roots and knocked on the trunk with his beak. It sounded surprisingly hollow. The cluster of leaves and twigs at the base of the tree suddenly shook, and a large black beak poked out, soon followed by a large black bird. "Hello, Blizzard!" Cat-Eyes greeted cheerfully.
“Okay, I think he’ll be fine, let’s just make sure we listen if he calls us.” Orbit said. “So, how old are you?” She asked Ritz.

Cat-Eyes opened her beak, but before she could respond Blizzard tapped his foot impatiently on the earthen floor. "We should stay on topic. Have you seen a feather-footed pigeon, a burrowing owl, or an injured.." he looked at Moonlight for confirmation, "gull?"
Cat-Eyes thought for a moment, absentmindedly scratching at a scrap of a receipt woven into her wing feathers. "Feathered legs.. Yes, I've seen that one before. Come with me." She went towards the entrance of her burrow, but stopped short of it. "By the way, lieutenant, though I am called crow-hearted by some, they use it as an insult." She said simply before stepping out of the burrow and lifting into the air.
“Hey switch with me! I want a turn listening.” Molly said.
"Wait," Storm muttered, then brought his head up. "They're leaving!" He squeaked, going to the hole and watching as the raven, followed by two pigeons, started to fly away.

Molly watched as best she could from where She stood

Moonlight wondered whether Blizzard meant to be more efficient or to hide something by rushing by the topic of the two ravens. No matter. The business between ravens and crows was not hers and neither was suspect. Neither had attacked her comrade.
What mattered was the fact that this crow knew something. "Lead away," she said, unceremoniously leaving the ground.
But one thought lingered in her mind. Crowhearted. Crow hearted? What does that mean? Must be a crow expression.

Cat-Eyes flew through towards a stand of trees, then alighted upon the ground. She gazed with sadness at the scene before her. Light gray feathers were scattered everywhere. A light breeze was whisking a few into the air as she watched. As the others landed and got closer, they spotted a single pigeon leg with feathers curling off it. "Must have been a predator of some sort." Cat-Eyes said, watching Moonlight to see if she recognized the remains.
---
Storm hopped around the nest excitedly. "You know what they said?" He cawed, not waiting for an answer, "They said they're looking for fugitives! A gull, a pigeon, and an owl! And one of those pigeons was a lieutenant!"
