If Russet had said what he was thinking out loud, Cement would’ve said something like, “he won’t listen, trust me”. However, he didn’t say anything, and Cement wasn’t good enough at eye-telepathy to gather his meaning. She turned back to Suliver.Russet wasn’t that great at mental communication but he did get the gist of Shut your beak. He gave an apologetic expression. But it’s true... Why don’t you give convincing them a try?
Russet turned back to Sulliver and gave him his best smile.
Rocket dipped down and landed beside Nanako again, her breathing more noticeable than before. She followed her, picking through the rubbish carefully for any sort of edible bits.*nanako laughed at her antics before flying to find food.*
Russet’s already speedy avian heartbeat rocketed into irregularity when Cement asked to be in the coup. We were just discussing the ethics of it, she never told me she wanted to be in the coup!If Russet had said what he was thinking out loud, Cement would’ve said something like, “he won’t listen, trust me”. However, he didn’t say anything, and Cement wasn’t good enough at eye-telepathy to gather his meaning. She turned back to Suliver.
“We deserve your trust, Suliver.” She said, the blunt words strange in her beak. If there was one thing Suliver appreciated, it was a show of strength.
“Go on,” he cooed, watching her curiously.
“I want to be a part of the coup.” Cement said steadily. “My gang members will follow me; they’re loyal to the last feather. We could make powerful allies.”
Suliver considered her.
“You did get me the gull.” He mused.
“Alright. You will be ready for my command in two days.”
Cement barely had enough time to process what Suliver had said before he flew off, buffering them with the wind from his wings.
Wait... Two days..?!

“Yes,” Cement said in a rather distracted way. She eyed the last few guards as they took off.Russet’s already speedy avian heartbeat rocketed into irregularity when Cement asked to be in the coup. We were just discussing the ethics of it, she never told me she wanted to be in the coup!
Well duh... Allies’ tended to help each other eliminate enemies, that was kind of in the meaning. That’s what she knew she was doing when she joined forces with Sulliver.
Russet didn’t have the time to think any longer when Sulliver said ‘two days’ and rudely beat air at both of them.
Russet’s third eyelids fluttered as though Sulliver’s general intolerableness was an irritant that he had just used to pollute the air that he directed at Russet’s face.
“Well that went well.”
Rocket hopped under a rusty stove and found a pile of moldy cat food. She reached out and grabbed a pellet hungrily, but then dropped it at its weird taste. I could eat this weird food or I could be hungry. She stared intently at the cat food, not able to come to a decision.*nanako pecked at pieces now and then before going after a nice juicyday bug she found scuttling around under someso garbage.*
Russet came flying right after her. “Now, the obvious advantage to being in the coup is being on the good side of the perpetrators. But what powers do we have to offer in it, other than the services we have provided?” He asked, tilting his head to the side inquisitively. Now he obviously had some observation abilities, and for brute strength he was your number-one-pigeon. But when it came to planning things and calculations, he trusted Cement’s brains more than his own, even if they came to completely contrary conclusions.“Yes,” Cement said in a rather distracted way. She eyed the last few guards as they took off.
“Let’s talk somewhere more private.” She muttered, then sped off before Russet could even reply.
Cement flew to a tree a short distance away and landed, waiting for her mate.
