~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

(No, it’s fine. Just curious. I had no idea you could even use byc on a flip phone)
“Oh I don’t know about that,” Ritz said. “Now that I have my job as a gull scout...” Ritz. “Well, they have those gang raids on the gulls sometimes, and now some of the gangs are planning a coup on One Toe. But Cement doesn’t want that to happen, since the pigeon they’ll put in charge will be worse than One Toe! So the gulls are going to ally with Cement’s gang. I found this all out because I was the one who flew to scout out Cement’s territory. I had to fly back and forth between the territories and send messages.”

Russet jumped back and shared a look with Cement. “Uh... do you need help?”
Like an avenging guardian angel, a mostly-white figure swooped down from above. Riski landed awkwardly on the rock. And Fish Sticks had somehow managed to get himself into a fight. He’s like a chick. Can’t let him go unsupervised for the time it takes to catch a couple of good fish.
“What’s going on here?” He boomed. Actually, his voice was more like a weird honking noise, but it sounded like a boom to Russet who was used to the peaceful coos of doves.
Cement opened her beak to reply, but was cut short when Riski heroically appeared. She tensed, prepared to fight or flee.
Vaatras froze, the end of one of Fish Stick’s wings in his beak. He looked wide-eyed at Riski.
Oyster’s eyes narrowed with annoyance. She had thought that Vaatras had made up the story of the huge-gull as an excuse for not being able to catch Fish Sticks. Obviously not. Despite her new predicament, she grinned. Oyster raised her head and stared at the sky. Several rapidly enlarging gray blobs were descending upon the island. Good thing I brought reinforcements.

Nickel sighed. “So what’s it like at Cement’s place anyway? I only just met her and Rusty a couple days ago. They wanted me to help them find Salty Fries. They must be tough. I sure didn’t expect them to make it.”
Nanako: what do you think we leave and go find some food instead of talking??
Rocket shrugged. She puffed herself up and turned her back on Nickel. “Look around you.” She said vaguely, hopping off the ledge with Nanako.

Riski picked up Vaatras by the wing, extracted Fish Sticks from his grip, and gently flung him away.
What do I do now? More gulls are coming, and this time we can’t flee.
“Um, what’s going on?” asked Russet. Are we being attacked? By our own allies?” He nervously at Riski, hoping he didn’t have to fight him and feeling rather small in comparison. Is that Fish Sticks? Now there was a gull leader he could admire. He knew gulls were large and awkward, but this was the largest, most awkward bird he had ever seen!
Rocket shrugged. She puffed herself up and turned her back on Nickel. “Look around you.” She said vaguely, hopping off the ledge with Nanako.
“Okay,” said Nickel. He went to bother somebody else.

*nanako fluffed her feathers and took off with her.*
Rocket flapped out from under the bridge, flying over it. Looking down, she saw some birds giving her suspicious looks, but otherwise it seemed that the gang wasn’t bothering to keep a close eye on her and Nanako. Her heart beat wildly in her chest as a realization struck her. They could just.. fly away. And she could tell Suliver about this gang, which was obviously an enemy.
But.. did she really want to?

(Rocket is so mean to Nickel XD)

Cement stepped forward. “Do you know where Fish Sticks is? We would like to speak to him.” She cooed, assuming that this authoritative bird, who seemed to have some control over the current situation, would be of some help. “On behalf of his pigeon allies.” She added.

Vaatras landed with an oomph in a nearby scraggly bush. “Hey!” He squawked, struggling and flapping to extract himself. This approach only made him more stuck.

Oyster stepped back, away from Riski’s much larger beak. She glared at him from a safe distance, but couldn’t keep herself from gloating. “What are you going to do now?” She taunted. “Sure, you’re freakishly huge, but I have what you don’t- allies!” Her eyes bugged out as she flapped her own not-too-small wingspan. “We have you beat, frauds!”
Oyster strategically ignored the noises of her mate battling the bush.

“Fish Sticks? Fish Sticks is right here!” Riski said, pointing at a frozen Fish Sticks. He shook gave him a nudge with his foot in an attempt to reanimate him. Is this a revolution? Well we need to make a public spectacle of this to show dissenters won’t be tolerated. But do we have the gull power? I almost have to trust in their loyalty in our “country.” Riski cringed.
“This is Fish Sticks?” Riski asked. I shouldn’t have said that, but it’s too late now. But... he seems like the least capable gull out of all of them! Literally any other gull would be better! And do the gulls even like him? It seems like they’re starting some kind of revolution. But Cement told me Ritz adored him.
“We should be going,” said Riski. “To, um, a higher vantage point.” He threw out his wings and flew, knocking a couple of the closest gulls out of the sky in the process.

*nanako flew with her, she was watching the ground below for any snacks they could grab as they flew.*

Cement stared at the gangly gull, frozen crouched on the ground, his feathers sticking out at odd angles due to his very recent ambush. She cocked her head, feeling the same disbelief of her mate. I did underestimate the other gull. She reminded herself, remembering the encounter with Ritz. She looked to Russet as Riski took off. “I think he’s telling the truth.” She said quietly.

Fish Sticks blinked, breaking out of his still, cowering state. “Oh- right!” He squawked in an overly loud voice. Oyster crept forward, her eyes and her beak trained on his taip. Fish Sticks hopped away and flew after Riski, flapping rapidly in his haste.

Rocket spotted a scattering of birds on a nearby field. All of Cement’s gang. “Hey, should we go over there?”

“No.” Rocket snorted. “They’re eating. You ever foraged seeds before?” Her last question was asked with curiosity. Some pigeons in the city had only fed from the bins or the dump, and Nanako had lived with humans for a while.
