Friday night I banded the Sussex chicks. Good news is two look solidly female. Bad news is two look solidly male, one looks male. I'll wait until they start crowing to be sure.

If I get two pullets out of the hatch, I will be content.

They have such elegant names :love

I don’t recommend naming a rooster Amnon, though. Fakes being sick, loafs around, keeps bad company, attracted to sisters, double minded, brothers want to kill him - probably wouldn’t be a popular guy at roost time.

The chick killer (almost) was Samuel, didn't live up to his name.
