fuzzi's Chicken Journal

It's at the Fair Grounds? Not sure. I haven't been there is a while.

Love this! I had a Lab that hated the rain. He would hold it long as he could. When it would snow I'd have to literally push him out the door. He'd run out, take care of business and scratch on the door and whine. :gigI had a fenced area for him out the back door. If his feet were wet, he'd pick up a paw and let me wipe them off. He was my big baby. 🥰

Mine is the same. It works great. Amazing stuff.

It has been raining all day. Not too much wind here. So far anyway. We live very close. I'm pretty much under the same blue dot.
Not the fair grounds, there's a farmer's market in town, well, just outside of city limits. It's close to the animal shelter, about 6 miles from me.

Cleo is my 4th dog. The first was a Sheltie/Lab cross, who would throw herself into any body of water, and adored snow. The third was a GSD/Lab cross, who also loved water and snow.

The second dog we had was a Boston terrier cross, who hated getting wet, hated rain, snow.

Cleo is GSD, and maybe bulldog? She'll stand at the top of the outside steps and go rigid, make it hard for us to haul her down the steps.

But she loves to eat as much as any Lab.

This is Tirzah, GSD/Lab...my 💜 dog, Dog in a Million. I lost her too young, and miss her SO much.

This is Kyrie, the Boston terrier cross (1992):

And the only picture I can find of Nikki, aka Pooh Bear (1988):

Tirzah has eyes just like my Buster did. 🥰

Buster came to me at about 7 months old. A man my DH worked with gave a cute little Lab puppy to his 3 yr old son. Of course the puppy grew faster than the child. He would jump and knock him down. Instead of training Buster, he put him on a chain in the back yard. :(

I had recently lost my American Eskimo, Tina. Also a rescue and a wonderful friend to me for 16 years. My husband just showed up with Buster. Told me his story. What could I do? He also was skinny and had mange. So after many trips to the vet, I had a handsome new friend who truly loved me for the next 14 years.

They become family.

They sure do...

We had Tirzah PTS on a Friday. We brought home Cleo "on trial" two days later, Sunday. She adored my dh at first sight. And her outgoing "I LUV U!" attitude towards everyone helped our grieving process.

Thanks for the additional information.

If my girls don't start laying soon I am going to have to buy eggs, and now I don't want to buy even the "cage free" eggs at Aldi's.

I wonder if the farmer's market will be open on Saturday...
It is easy for me to buy eggs directly from nearby farmers if I ever need any. Farmers market is a good source. I also find them on Craiglist. Finally I can also ask my local facebook farming and chicken group.
