We have them too. They are spikey LOL

Some people do gather them up and make crafts out of them, maybe someday I'll do that (probably not!).
I did collect a lot of pinecones and made a wreath, I liked that, so eh...gum balls would look good mixed in, so maybe.

No. I'm not wishy washy, well, maybe just a little🤣

This doesn't look too bad

I like it right up until I see the little holes. I may or may not have a phobia of wasps and wasp nests

Still, whoever made that is extremely talented!

They are the seed pods off of sweet gum trees. They can make you turn your ankle and lawn mowers pick the up and throw them across the yard. We have them too.

When we had a riding mower they would make the drive belt pop off. They're painful projectiles, too, when I use the push mower.

This year we seem to have more than usual, piles of them all over. They don't compost easily, so I put them in the burn pile.

There is just something vaguely disquieting about a gumball, possibly its resemblance to this?

Weapons aside, a pinecone wreath with a few gumballs scattered in would be attractive! If you make, I hope you post a picture or two so we can admire.

Fuzzi, the hoop coop progress is great to see. Fuzzi's Professional Super Hooper Cooper Build 2.0! (Phone kept auto correcting "coop" to "cooper" so I went with it) 😆

I like that gum ball wreath! Never seen one like that!

We have tons of pine cones too. I've been wanting to try to give some a cinnamon scent to use in wreaths or baskets in the house.

I need to prune our scuppernong vines asap. I have in the past made wreaths with those.

Maybe I'll have some "smart moments" as the weather warms. 🤣
Grape vines make wonderful wreaths, I used to do that. We have Bittersweet too, lots of it, it's invasive, but it does make a nice base for wreaths if you can wrangle it out of the trees and bushes. I actually like the Bittersweet when it's in fall "bloom" or whatever, I think it's pretty, but boy it can spread fairly quickly.

🤣 It does look like similar doesn't it. View attachment 4063050

It's progressing so slowly, with stops and redos, it's a bit frustrating. Thanks for the encouragement.

It never got above 44° yesterday, worked a little over two hours in the afternoon.

Trying to get a support piece plumb when it's just you...

Close enough.

Placed and attached with a couple screws and washers so I can draw a cut line.

Line drawn on the panels.

One of the reasons I stop and take pictures is to get an overall appraisal of the job. Here it's evident that I could have done it better.

Why didn't I just attach the upright to the horizontal base on the inside?

I took the panels off and was planning to cut them today but I think I will remove the upright, re-plumb & reattach it on the inside of the frame. It will be stronger that way.

I'm not a professional, can you tell? :gig

Nice.

I'm not talented enough to make such lovely doorframes!
I just stuck a 2x4 through the cattle panel so there was enough room to have a ridge 2x4. I then marked where to cut the ends off the 2x4. I then measured how tall the upright was to make the CP taunt. I used screws so I could fix my mistakes. I made the door a half inch smaller so I had opps room. I used washers stacked to rest the door on while I screwed the hinges on the frame.
