Abigail and Dinah, who is the only OEGB laying right now.

Esther is still not finished with her molt!

Caught Priscilla coming out of the box, she's the Sussex hen that's been laying, yes!

Getting 2-3 eggs daily. Darker egg on top is a Sussex pullet egg, the biggest on the right is probably from Priscilla. Egg on the left is an OEGB pullet egg.

Go, girls, go!

The kitty and chicken integration is not progressing as one would wish.

Sometimes Caleb looks at the cats but keeps walking, but he still does the impulsive launch.

Caleb will walk by the hoop coops without a sideways glance 8 out of 10 times, but then just has to do a short dash that upsets the flock greatly.

I'm mentally planning a privacy screen for the chickens, something that would also act as a light fence between the coops and the rest of the yard.

I had two dozen pullet eggs on hand, so I hard-boiled 15, ate two, and pickled the rest. Half went into a jar of pickled beets brine, the other half were submerged in soy sauce, as per a friend's recipe.

The wax paper is being used to keep the eggs submerged.

Yikes, I’m sure the flocks don’t appreciate that one bit!

We are currently going thru the First Night “blues” song here with this little one who is just shy of 2 months old:

As far as her limited interaction with the chickens has gone, the rooster has expressed interest; while hen wants to run for the hills 🤣
