Cars don't start.

Pipes freeze.

And it takes 15 minutes to get dressed in your winter outdoor gear!

I'm not happy in the cold unless I'm doing something physical. When it's cold and damp I'm tetchy to say the least. When it's below freezing, damp and windy I sort of seize up.

All of this cold weather has me lethargically ready to do a re-read of The Long Winter/Laura Ingalls Wilder. Somehow, reading about months of successive blizzards on the prairie in the 1880s has the effect of making one feel much cozier here in the 21st century

Well, 10C is 50F, damp, breezy and 10C/50F is cold. That's coat and wood stove weather!
