Fuzzybutts w/ Crusties

I have several 6 day old chicks that have crusties on their bottoms. Is it best to simply wash thier bottoms with a warm, damp cloth or sponge to remove this?

Yup, clean`m up. Then you can finish the job by adding molasses to their drinking water. Molasses is a natural laxative for fowl. The condition you describe is called "pasty butt" and is a symptom of constipation. Mix the water/molasses to look like weak tea and give it to them for 2-3 days.

I get a warm dribble going in the sink and kind of rinse them off.
