HI and welcome to Fuzzy's thread!

Hey everyone, haven't had a chance to post for few day. Busy busy busy! Mobile home is coming along slowly. Lots of work and little money! Budget is getting lower. Nova love new pictures! And yes that skunk needs to go! Plus if it ever sprays you or the coop or chickens it won't be pretty, a stinky hard to get rid of smell. Hope everyone has great week. Very hot and humid here, so be careful in the heat.

Our weather has cooled down to a nice comfortable level :) Finally got rid of the sticky-ness! But the rain missed me so it's nothing but dust and crabgrass by me. I am hoping that my rhubarb comes back, i haven't spent much time out there with the birds and whatnot due to the extreme heat over here; nothing but shriveled stems now :( I used old buckets of water in an attempt to bring them back.

What do you have to do to your mobile home savannah? I know about the dwindling budget. I had high hopes, still do but i tallied up the reciepts and i did put in over $1000 so far, not pretty still! Some of that stuff seems like it don't cost much, but tally all the nickle and dimes and you have a landslide.

Nova, i have been eying your CL for jobs too. I just don't know, you know? I do have friends here so it would suck, i guess i find out Tues when she comes back from vacation what's what. I put up with a lot, been doing the ol' duck and run when she goes off; been here 9 months already! if nothing else that looks good for me. Also i haven't missed any days of work. Was half an hour late one morning because the alarm clock mal functioned, but i got there within 5 min of waking, LOL. Them residents gotta have breakfast ;) Now i have TWO alarm clocks, LOL.

Skunk, gotta go. I've been locking the girls down at night with the cooler weather. I finally coerced the neighbor's chickens to go back down to her house (his stepsis that got the chickens from uncle when they moved, the chickens that i wanted and couldn't buy any ) Anywho she knows everything and i'm a chicken stealer, so i think she lost a hen to the heat and i think the skunk must've eaten her because i can't find a body. :( I found out it was missing one when i talked to her BF, she apparently haden't even bestired herself to go down to the uncles old place to check on them and do head count. (mine are between the two properties, and she thinks they are coming back because i feed them, and won't listen about the instinct thing) I had 3 and assumed she had the other 4; I did put water out during the heat for hers, but must've been too late for the one because i worked that day and when i saw her she was already breathing with a rattle. :( and since hers look alike when the other 3 came i assumed that i had kept the original and gained 2, but i guess i lost one and got 3 more. ? Not good any way you look at it but i'm only one person and i have mine as safe as i can.

and henry is def getting worse because he nailed me in the back last night. :( Maybe hungry and tense, but i can't understand how it's my fault? Dang he was such a sweet boy when i got him! I haven't been out as much as i used to to hang out beyond the normal care and at least half an hour sit-down. ??? Far's i know it's just me he's mad at but i don't know anyone who wants a rooster right now.

I am still working on the bumblefeet in my flock, they are slowly getting better and then i have to make my decisions. If not for the small white rooster i'd just let them ALL go but then who'd snuggle him? He's such a hugger. Perfect for breeding. I hope when he gets his spurs he don't go psycho on me too. I think maybe it's because i don't have a bigger flock and the roosters don't get much competition, so they get bold. Or i just got an unlucky string of them; my plucky didn't get mean until he got harassed and this is his son. I'm so proud of him; i miss his daddy very much. He was my buddy. Summer hasn't been the same without my cocoa and plucky dogging my steps.

Anyone heard from the rest of the gang?

I'm here. Just popping in and out, though.
Fuzzy, that wasn't cool what your boss did. Hope everything works out for you in this. And if it ever comes down to it again and they want you to buy a new shirt, I'll be more than happy to help you out. You have more important things to see to with your income than a shirt that's just going to get ruined anyway.

Well I spent 2 hours this afternoon weeding out the hosta beds and the beds around the front half of the house. It was long overdue. The chickens spent the time following my progress and jumping into the little blue pool I was using to catch the weeds in the hopes of finding bugs and worms. We tossed all the weeds in to the goats who were dancing around in anticipation for them.

Spot the Soledad...

I went to lock the birds up tonight, and I always make sure the garage chickens are in, I do a visual look and noticed that Pat the Rat was missing, but found his dumb butt wedge between the nest box and a mason's tool box. Moved the nest box over so he's was able to get out. I think he may have exhausted himself... Then I noticed Soledad gone. Now Soley is a pink skinned silkie and the sweetest thing. She was practically blinded by her own top knot, and I nearly lost her to starving over the winter, since I didn't realise there was a problem... Trimmed her up, and she's been a piggly wiggly ever since. Anyway, she's nearly a year old now, and she finally reached egg laying maturity at about 10 months old. At that time, her comb reddened up and nearly all her face fluff fell out revealing her big eyes permanantly now. Sweet. Well anyway, She hasn't been laying lately, and I attributed that to the heat. Or so I thought. I also haven't been getting marans eggs either, which is depressing, since those are some pretty fat birds... Yes... I am thinking about my stomach here. So... Did you spot the chicken?

I hope you found her... Anyway... here's what was under her...

11 Marans eggs, 6 of her eggs, and 1 from one of the other girls... Now... I didn't realise that the Marans had been making it to the front yard, let alone into the middle of the ornamental grass... LOL. They were all pretty cool to the touch, and I know she's hasn't been sitting on them but for a few hours today. She's pretty big on getting fed, and she's been in the garage every night... Anyway, I set her up a nest in the garage with 4 marans eggs... Lets see if she's really broody or just considering... 18 eggs... Freaking marans... LOL Nice brown egg they lay though huh?

ha ha ha ha! I had to enlarge it, and STILL only saw bits and pieces! Good girl.

Nope, didn't go well. Boss and gal in office tried every angle to guilt me over making a stink???! She said she was planning on paying me back; but when someone repeatedly tells you no don't take money out of my check that i don't have any extra i don't see what's the question at all. So i got payed today, and needless to say i wasn't feeling guilty only more and more p.o.'d! So they finally gave up and let me out of the office. I just don't see how if she was planning on buying them in the first place it would take a month to get the money, and why she didn't just go get a money order. B.S., i know full well when i'm being B.S.'d and don't appreciate it at all.

So pretty much my issue and the other gal who had her vacation pay TAKEN, and proved it both had our stuff swept under the rug and made to feel like we were being petty. Uh uh, not flying here. Looking around officially for another job; if my psycho boss can scream at me and threaten me and illegally sign to take money out of my account, and i still don't get listened to this isn't a good place for me.

Chickens are doing good, and still alive :) Neigbor may be missing more though. :( DH was over mowing the lawn (MIL payed him to) and he didn't see but 3 of the 7 original, the 3 that i've been seeing over at my place; her place must be a death trap. I wish in a way that henry was already taken care of and i could just give them asylum at my coop. I did my girl's feet again yesterday, so hopefully soon all the feet will be better at least. :)

Hi everyone! So glad to see you all here. I've been running. Been trying to get both my mom's and my dad's estate stuff worked on. And try to clean house - all the stuff that you never really do because there's not time. School starts back in three weeks - I can't believe it - and I'm running out of time.

Sorry about your boss problems, Fuzzy. It makes life so hard when you've got work issues like that. I hope you can find something else that's really good.

Weather is hot and humid. You just walk out and 3 minutes later you are covered with sweat. But at least it's cooler at night and in the morning. Last year was just super hot ALWAYS no matter what time of the day.

Nova, I found the chicken but I had to look twice!!! Nice pic. Yeah, Georgie is the trouble goat. I told you all that I got an automatic door opener to pull up the hook that holds one of the doors to the barn closed. Well, the motor works wonderfully but has this whirrrrring sound when it raises the hook. This freaks Georgie out. Everyone else will run out to the pasture once the door is open except Georgie who stays on the highest shelf and baaaaas so loud you would think she's dying. Once she sees everyone leave she makes a mad dash out the barn so the big mean motor won't grab her. Silly goat. She is a lap baby and we do love her even though she's a bit wonky - lol!
