GA Ban on Selling or Swapping Chickens Because of Avian Influenza Question

Lol, I'm in Round Oak. Out in nowhere in Jones. Seeing as I grew up in Atlanta, This is a huge change for me. My husband grew up in Wilkinson (Spelling that right?) So he's used to it. But I'm loving every minute of it.

So today there was a message sent out stating: Effective immediately all poultry exhibitions, shows, sales (flea markets, auction markets), swaps, and meets in the State of Georgia are suspended until further notice. This is because of the Avian Influenza in Tennessee and maybe in Alabama. Does this mean no mailing eggs too? I'll add a link to the online letter.

I acutally miss Atlanta's fast pace some days but I love where I live more because my husband and kids love it so much.. Plus I couldn't have chickens or nice gardens there.

Ain't that the truth? I have only had to be the twice for doctor visits at Children's Healthcare with my daughter. Both times the traffic was really amazingly light. We did get delayed by some construction and stayed in town for a later appointment, but really I moved through it without a problem. Now anytime in our rural town we have more than five cars waiting at a light, my daughter calls it "Atlanta traffic" and I laugh because I know we hardly experienced any.

It's actually about 35 Minutes from us. Lol. We're near Gray and Jones County.

Does anyone know if you can personal sells from home? I have 3 incubators full and 3 more dozen to hatch when these are done. All my birds are good/clear of anything and we even penned up our free rangers and ducks to keep them safe from wild birds (since that’s how they say it’s spread)

I could link the Statute and some of the Interpretations of Implementing Regulations, but interpretation and expounding upon same involves more than expressing my opinion as a reasonably well read consumer with odd choices of reading genre, and borders on the practice of law - so I'm going to bow out and let you decide for yourself.
