game camera?

Check Academy's website or store. We have 4 (dh, myself and both boys are avid deer hunters). I don't recall the brand right now, but I bought them all (except mine) at Christmas time last year on sale for around $69, regular around $140. They take a 7megapixel, very clear concise shot using a regular sd card. We just take the laptop to the woods, view the pics and put the card back in. They also take a fairly wide angle shot. You can adjust the sensitivity on ours.. I will try to find the brand/model when we go check the cams and update.

well have been looking at game cameras now need infor on the memory card which to get 1mg or 2 or 3 or 4? we are looking at the moultrie d55 at Cabelas for 79.99 only because the I35 didn't have a good review. It's all so confusing!!

I know people swear by Moultrie but mine (ir-55?) just was not sensitive enough and wouldn't wake out of sleep mode very well. I returned it. The Primose Truth cam 46 lets you adjust sensitivity & overall I'm pleased with it. I'm just strugglng with positioning now.

I used both a 1 GB and a 258Mb cards in both. I checked mine at the end of every day. The 258 Mb card held over 20 photos & could have held more, and you can't even find cards that small anymore! I really don't think you have to worry about running out of space on the card unless you'll be leaving it in for months at a time. I used both SanDisk and Transcend brands.

I would get maybe a 2Gb card at the max if I were to buy a new card. I think the biggest issue is making sure the game cam reformats the card so that they're compatible. The Primose Truth Cam has an option to reformat the card when you first put it in. Both cams were very easy to use & navigate through the menus, so that's a plus for them.

thanks for the information, I have been looking at cameras all day. Hopefully tomorrow I will have decided. I like the primrose and also the Bushnell.

I did NOT like the Moultrie one. It was kinda hard to tell if it was on or off, and it quit working on me the second day I had it. Also it did NOT know how to format a SD card, which I think was the source of my problems with it (not sure though)

I exchanged it at WalMart for a Bushnell one and I couldn't be happier with it!!!!!!!!!! It can format a SD card to it's own liking, and it just plain works! I use a 2GB card, that holds about 1600 high res pix (so it says).

This is the thread where my live trap was stolen, prompting me to get the game cams, and my reviews of them on the later pages

Here are some pix that I have gotten with it both day and night, and some info about it sprinkled in

I have it set to take 3 picture sequences, so I caught one of my roos mid-flight! It takes great pix! It's also quite sensitive and you can adjust the sensitivity from 1 to 6 (I use setting #5 and it's working great that way). It has a on/off SWITCH that you can just look at to see if it's on or off (the Moultrie one went to "sleep" and you didn't really know if it was still on or not since the display was off) Plus the Bushnell case is a bit smaller and I just plain like it better all around. The control menu and on/off switch are the best IMO, plus the pix are great! I want a second one!!
However, I have NOT caught any predators on camera yet neither 2 or 4 legged (except the possum that got trapped) LOL I will of course update my thread if I do see anything out of the ordinary.
