Depends where your at and what you get. I buy purina game bird startena. Its right at 20 bucks a bag here. have heard of some get'n it for 17ish. I have paid 21 as well.... I feel its the best for game birds thou, 30 %.... Bill

I'm with FD on Purina 20/21 saw 17 few years ago.We can get MG starter grower here for 16.00...cva34

I buy 30% Gamebird grower. I use it for my Cots and also for the layers. I'm giving scratch right now too, so the grower helps add some protien that they could be lacking. Also I hadn't had an egg in a couple of months and once I started them on this a couple have started up. No added lights. Not the quail though, I have to add lights to them soon, cause they eat like pigs without putting out a single egg.

not sure why but the starter seems to get more eggs longer some birds are light resistant when you are supplementing the natural light when the natural light starts going down they just stop laying
