Gander Loosing Weight

I worm twice a year in the Fall before winter and breeding season and in the Spring. This helps the geese keep from having worms and go through the winter with no stress of worms. They need to be as healthy as possible going into the winter this helps the geese stay in good shape for the winter. Plus in the Spring when I worm.
I have had really good luck doing this practice. I do not see any worms in their stools after doing these worming's. Some people will over worm which is a bad idea. That is why if you suspect a goose of having worms they recommend taking a stool sample in so the vets can tell you if they do have worms and what kind to worm for.

We have 8 acres most of it is wooded. But do have two pastures and the geese free range it all day. In our front yard, up in the two pastures and around the back of our house. The go where ever they like. Plus in wit the mini horse.
So I watch their stools all the time and they are nice stools. They also eat dirt all the time so the worming is a must twice a year here.
If I see one not eating right or acting funny I will worm them. But have not had to do so on the schedule mine are on for worming. Mine eat like little pig's....

You can always tell when a goose does not feel good or is down. By their actions. So keeping an eye on the is also a good thing. Make sure you know your geese each one and how they act. Because if you catch things soon enough it can save their life.

Any warm area year round has easier chances of the geese getting worms more often.
