OK. I'm thinking ruptured air sac or subcutaneous emphysema.

Chickens have 9 air sacs and 2 lungs. I'm thinking it's one of the Cervical air sacs that may be leaking. I'd like to see what the others think too.

It could be. It inflates and deflates with each breath.

Curious what could have caused it, he doesn't have any injuries. It's been going on now for quite awhile too

I'll check it later today on his "walk" and see if it's any larger and try to get another video.

Is this something that should heal up overtime?

IF it's a ruptured air sac and it's been going on this long, then I don't think it will resolve on it's own. You would need to release the air.

We got about 3mL of air out. Also a few drops of clear liquid.

He is still gasping, but seems to be breathing a little easier. I'll check tomorrow and see about removing some more
