Garage Chickens...Who does this??

I have mine in the garage too - they have access to an outdoor run through a doggie door. See below:

Everything i used to build was already laying around so this did not cost me anything (my kids painted the coop).
 
I think most people have a separate outside coop. However, I think people either way is "normal". People do what they gotta do. I think that with the increase in urban chickens the rules and norms are not the same as they were 10 yrs ago. If I had a double garage I would consider it mostly because it would be much more predator proof. I live in town but have tons of coons around. After losing a couple of hens to coons I worry all the time and am constantly checking the coop for weaknesses. I built my coop into part of an old greenhouse and added a run.
