Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

I moved things around in my office and trimmed the pothos. The peace lily went to the living room to see if it will do better there. The shade for the window is only half down so there's lots of natural light during the day.

Below are the lily and 6 christmas cacti. The cacti will be divided this Spring into separate pots. I have 2 each of the red, white and pink, not a great pic sorry. You can see the lily suffered this winter from low light.

Eventually I want to set up some shelves with grow lights for the indoor plants in my office.

Approaching the coldest day in a very long time . Possibly -26*F on Wednesday. Right now it is +7*F and sunny
Just wanted to share some plants growing indoors.
This only blooms a few weeks. I will see if I can keep it growing to bloom again. These were abundantly stocked at stores for the Holidays. Came with pot, soil, and covered. Just added some water, and a hint of Miracle Grow.

Hyacinth. Growing hydroponic.

The poinsettias will be planted outside for summer. Then they expire come frost.

One year I grew the big ol' Amaryllis, beautiful plants! I didn't have any luck getting it to go a 2nd time, but I hope you do...keep us posted!

Thanks,,,, We are prepared and braced for the COLD.
Schools and may other places will be closed Wednesday.
My animals are tucked in safely. Cats and chickens in wood stove heated garage.
This coming weekend is supposed to be above freezing.
We usually get one arctic blast each winter.

forgot to add, i have a few amaryllis's, 8 or 9 what they call butterflies and a couple of white with red stripes, forgot the name, for me, easy to keep and get them to bloom again, just like you would a christmas cactus, plus they will start "pups" that you can transplant

If they come up, you will know that someone assisted in their growth since those seeds are definitely not fertile.

Around here, if they do come up, I'll have to really watch for garden thieves.
