Yup, it is a lot of plants. we have 24 hills planted.
today we have to plant the six plants that my sister sent to me. we can't pick any stalks until the summer of 2022.. all is contingent on if any of it grows.
I have three grapes that have to go into the ground , too..
I started working on the tractor hydraulic pump. ran into a snag. the new flex coupler is 3" dia. It wants to rub on the tractor frame. I have to either back up the mount an inch, or grind on the cast iron frame to gain the clearance I need..

we left enough room each way to skim the surface with the rototiller. I will mulch very heavily to prevent weeds .
what am I going to do with all of that rhubarb? I don't know. I might sell every other plant.
I might make a batch or two of wine. I know I will have at least one rhubarb pie. I haven't had a rhubarb pie for this is my second season.
first the plants have to survive. then they have to grow. I can't harvest any until 2022..
But for next year, I know where I can get enough free stalks to make a pie..
On Saturday, I took the pump off of the tractor. drained the hydraulic fluid and separated the pump from the mounting bracker. it was a tussle. Had to resort to a BFH to separate the pump from the bracket.
I drill two new precisely spaced holes into the bracket and put it back onto the tractor.
then I ran out of daylight and it started getting cold. I always leave something to do for the next day. I don't always plan it that way, but it happens..

glad you're getting your tractor fixed
never cared for rhubarb, mil used to make pies and also would cook it as a side dish, she and fil loved it, or if he didn't, he never said he didn't, still have the last one she planted among the comfrey but if i did want some, people bring the stalks to the auction to sell

They are predicting rain tomorrow and 16°F for Tuesday with a high of 40°F. I started picking the garden today.

Northern Exposure tomato (5" diameter) sad that it will not get to vine ripen.

My mom used to make a sauce. We poured it over baking powder biscuits . wonderful stuff.
Mom used to make apple pie in a 9x11 cake pan. No bottom crust, just a top crust. more wonderful stuff.
today I fit the pump mount with pump on it onto the tractor. It gives me the clearance I need. Now I just have to wait for my nephew to mill keyways into the shaft for me.

Just wanted to share these flowers. Long story short,,, I had a Wild Flower Mix envelope from well over 15 years ago. Found it this spring while rearranging some things in my garage shelf. I figured "why not,,,, what's the worst that will happen :idunno"
This pot produced those flowers, and different ones keep coming as the season progresses. A pleasing surprise:love

An unrelated to my garden but interesting just the same.
Goldenrod gets the blame for the allergies many individuals suffer from this time of year. Both Goldenrod, and Ragweed grow side by side in the neighborhood along the creek, where it grows wild, and not mowed.
