compost and horse manure.
They definitely were not happy. Cooler temps until June and cools off in September. Not much of a growing season for warm weather crops.
Better than R2Elks though
I found King Arthur to be an excellent cool weather bell pepper.

I am a mildly hot pepper lover. jalepino is my limit. and the yellow ones that have just a mild bite that are served in salads.
I like tobasco sauce for the flavor more so than the bite.
Flint, you have a one man truck farm. I could never keep one like that.
when I plant green peppers, I plant them deep into the ground, right up to the leaves. they do good here in zone 4

Dealing with Black knot fungus.
I'm so sorry, nasty nasty stuff. At least you know what needs to be done and more importantly to burn the branches to kill the fungus so it can't spread to other trees.

I live in the boonies and it takes 10 minutes to post a picture
I suggest you look into a Golden Feather membership here on BYC. No ads, very important when you have a slow connection.

I'm too cheap to buy dirt
Even if the dirt is dirt cheap? ;)

Boxes of pain.. severe pain
I'm not a fan of pain!!! I'm a big ol wimp.

I received trees and gooseberries yesterday afternoon. I finished planting them just as it started to rain. I was glad for the rain. Got right at 1/2" on the freshly planted items.

This morning I was very happy that I did not put off the planting until today.

Is that the original Lemon Boy or the improved version that is orange instead of yellow?
