Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

So far 5 out of the 8 hibiscus seeds have sprouted.
And I put a peppermint candy on the table with my seedlings and no more have been eaten.

What do you think was eating your seedlings?

Did the varmint eat the peppermint candy instead? Last night, I was at the computer, and had a lady bug bite my arm. Lady bug is no more, but those things HURT!.

A MOUSE! I hate the dang things. But we live in the middle of no where and are surrounded by cow pastures and catfish ponds. So we get the over flow!
I had hoped the hawk that moved on our farm would help get rid of them.
Our dogs are not good mousers.

No the peppermint kept it off my dining room table. They hate peppermint!

Those orange beetles that look like lady bugs that were imported do bite and they do hurt! They are terrible! I hate them more than I do the mice! I have to sweep them up by the 100's! DAILY!

You need a cat or two or three.

We have 3 cats here at home and another 3 at the golf course. No more mouse problems, at all.

Wow, I didn't know lady bugs would bite. Somehow I always picture them as cute, colorful little garden helpers. Crazy!

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, these are not lady bugs, but potato beetles. They were imported from Asia to eat aphids and things. I hate those suckers. Sometimes, my entire door is covered in them. And they do bite.

I made a bug trap near mine, so sick of stink bugs. Just a pan of water but i caught 3 already!

You have stink bugs in your house? We just have a few stray Asian lady beetles, and drunken flies.

Some years our houses are full of the stinking biting lady beetles, they all try to winter over in our houses up here.
