Hey!

Been a while since I've been on and posted. Been busy working on the garden and trying to get everything ready for planting. All this rain we've been getting hasn't been helping much.

I have 3 of my beds up. I plan on putting up 3 more and rebuilding my asparagus bed. The asparagus bed is next on the list.

The strawberry bed has been redone and replanted. Out of 20 plants I planted last year, I dug out about 170 plants. Gave 60 to my mom, planted 32 back in the bed and the rest I planted all around our land.

I have Candy onions, kale, carrots and radishes planted and coming up. I picked up some sweet purple onions in town yesterday. I was thinking about planting some in with the strawberries. Or, I could put some dirt & compost in some of the block holes and plan them there. What do ya'll think?

With the onions. As far as I know, Alliums and strawberries make great bed mates.

I was thinking that since I'm not going to let my strawberries send out soooo many runners this year, that I should have room to plant some sweet purples in amongst the berries. If the onions don't get that big, they will still make some good eating.

Yes from a seed I collected from last year's plant. Gold Nugget is not a hybrid so will reproduce the same plant as the original. In the summer I keep the plant in the greenhouse away from other tomatoes to keep a pure strain. I normally plant a seed in December but last year I put the seed in during the middle of November. It has huge south facing windows for natural light but daylight fluorescent lights for 13 hours daily.

The exceptional growth is from adding azomite at the rate of 1 tablespoon per gallon of potting soil.
When I saw your first post, I thought,,,,,,,,,,, That looks like a tomato on steroids,,,,,,,,,,,,, Than I thought,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe your house pets are helping you with fertilizing,,,,,,,,,, hmmmmmmmmm, and then I read your secret. AZOMITE,,, :thumbsup

Plant them in the holes, maybe they will repel bugs!

:yesss: mine came in a flat rate box, how they got 45 pounds in there, idk!

My understanding about the flat rate boxes USPS. if you can get a blacksmith anvil in it, it goes.....:)
70 pounds and less is the rule. I get 25 pounds of fertilizer in a flat rate box and it's bulging at every seam. A friend in PR recently convinced Fertrell to cut up a 50 pound salt block to fit in a flat rate box and it worked.

ETA: $160 shipping vice $18...

I come to conclusion that USPS is the leader. :thumbsup
They are not afraid of weight.

I know that Buster Brown would run you to the POOR HOUSE at those weights. They are useful at oversize items.
