I have a tumbleweed related question.
When I was a child, we had tons of tumbleweeds here. I was terrified of them. There are no longer tumbleweeds in east Texas.
Why? What happened to them?
I've googled this question many times but I can't find an answer.

My guess would be eradication of Russian Thistle and Tumble Mustard.

Plus increased population decreasing the areas where weeds grow unchecked.

I really was terrified of those things. We were way out in the country. Our church had an outhouse, and I would have peed my pants before I trapsied out that way by choice!
I was the child who was always in trouble. Every time one rolled inside and down the aisles, I started screaming bloody murder. Then I got taken to the outhouse.
