I don't even look at the price anymore, there is nothing I can do about it. I don't even try to convert litres into gallons, if i did I would be really PO'd.
123.9 a litre here but it is going up and that will be reflected in everything consumers need.

I bought a fuel efficient vehicle thats about all I can do.

Between gasoline prices, food prices and our house electrical bill, somebody might have to get a second job

I only bought seeds and wow stuff still grows...You can grow stuff without buying fretilzer, lime, mulch, compost, bug sprays. You can use stuff you allready have to make stuff grow and to kill pest.
The net is full of ways to use what you have to grow stuff.
The problem is the solution.

Yes, very true if you can take the long road and be an organic gardner. But unfotunatly most people want a fast fix. It can take years to amend soil organicly. Also takes reading and research to do this. We are organic here for I was raised that way.

For others it is faster and quicker to buy compost and whatever else is needed. Again we are a fast food throw away society, which is why we are in this mess to begin with.

I think this falls under the "get what you need not what you want" rule.

You dont need a tractor when a tiller will do the job, you dont need a tiller when a hoe will do the job, you dont need fertilizer when smart planting will do the job, you dont need mulch when weed pulling will do the job.

People complain about how little you can make or save by farming but when you look at the books its not that the savings an profit is not there its that they are throwing it away on things to make it less work.

We bought matching bicycles at a yard sale a while back.
$5.00 each, the people just wanted them gone. So it was a
good deal. I actually ride mine, wife's just sits.

Only thing you can buy in my town is a can of sodapop. We have
two pop machines now. Other than that, five miles to the BP for
a loaf of bread, milk or whatever.

After that it's seventeen miles in one direction to the nearest town
in one direction, eighteen in the other direction. So I'm used to not
going out every day. (Work at home) A tank of gas can easily last us
a few weeks.

On the other hand...anyone have an ideal of what your local stations
profit margin is on a gallon of gas? I'm not sure that your local station
actually sets their price. Seems more of a controlled thing, depending on
the area. But I did have a local gas station owner tell me his profit margin
was in the three cents a gallon range.

Cheapest staion in my area is just that...a station only. No frills, no mini-market.
Gas, diesel, cigarettes, gum and candy only. Pump it yourself. They pump it? Add
thirty cents a gallon, please.

Yea, the local station does not make anything off gas. We had one when I was a teen an we had ours set to 2 cents a gallon over our cost. You do get sign on bonuses to contract to sell what ever brand of gas for 2 years at a time. One year they built a roof over our pumps to get the contract an another time they paved the parking lot. Stores don't carry gas for the profit they can make cause they don't really make any. The gas is to get you to stop in hopes you buy something inside that is profitable on there end.

That is what we heard too, and you know what just gets me. We act like we have to import every stinkin' thing we use . . .and we HAVE oil here, old pumps in our area are being reactivated, so don't tell me we couldn't do it ON OUR OWN. Why should we suffer because some idiot in another country is causing havoc. . .we need to rethink this whole political set up we call government.

If it is any comfort Canadians will be.
Some still think they need their Jumbo 4x4 on steroids to go grocery shopping in. Some of those trucks have never seen a gravel road, it is a status symbol. Hate to pay their fuel bill.
