Gender? *2 months of age* orp :)

Interestingly, I previously made a board and the votes were predominantly roo

any other opinions, please post.

I don't know. My Buff O hens are about the same age as Blackie and their combs and wattles are much, much smaller and lighter.

Thank you, I don't know at this point either. Hatchery/non-hatchery/black/buff so many variances. Just when I resolve to think roo, I'm also thinking "WAIT this is your favorite chick, if you give him up & it's a her, then what?!".
I have been given very solid opinions with explanations -for both male & female.
Maybe Blackie is a "wait & see" orp. Not liking the early a.m screech/crow sound that I heard this morning though.
Then I read that females do that too

Got your PM, OP, and from looking at your older pictures (the 4 week ones), I'm actually leaning more towards rooster now.

The comb was very large and red in the 4 week pic, and that's how my current batch of cockerels looked around that age. Of course, mine are different breeds (barred rocks, old English game bantams, and gold brabanters), but all of the cockerels, except for the brabanter who took his sweet time (think I've finally discovered the brabanter cockerel now at week 7 though

), had obviously larger, pinker combs and wattles than the pullets by that age, and their combs haven't grown too much from week 4, but are still much more red and larger than the pullets' combs.

That is a hen. I just took a pic of my buff Orpington Hen this morning. She is most certainly a girl, I get eggs from her all the time. People get confused with Orpingtons and sexing them. Orpington hens can get very large combs and wattles and I really wouldn't make a call until you see if it starts to roo. I really think it is a hen. You would be shocked if you saw how large the comb and wattle is on my Buff Orpington Lucy. If you would like me to try to send you a picture of my buff Orpington hen for comparison pm me. I have to download the pics this afternoon and if you have pmed me I will send you a pic of her to see. I thought Lucy was a boy when she was little but she is 100% girl just a great layer.
