Wow. Thank you. Very educational. I had no clue. I will spend more time with them, and double check everything, just to make sure,
I am guessing the same would apply to my blue Swedish too? I really love the black one and hope it’s a she...
No not really, Muscovy are different from all the other types of ducks because they aren't technically even ducks they are just waterfowl closely related to ducks and geese. They have a huge difference in size between male and female that the mallard-derived ducks such as your blue Swedish don't have. The easiest way to tell apart the other ducks you have is the males will grow a curly tail feather, and the females are generally louder and sound a bit different from the males when they quack.

Its more overall size but a lot of factors weigh in. Males are 2x the size of females once they're full grown they are huge your number 2 and 3 look like females so they won't get much bigger than they are now. Also the females feather in quicker than the males, the males have thicker legs and a different stance, generally females feet are a bit closer to eachother so you see them standing on their own feet sometimes. The biggest difference between males and females is the noise they make. Males make kind of a huffing hissing noise while females make more of a higher pitched coo like a chicken. Neither will ever be loud and quack like other ducks. The males don't produce any actual noise the only noise you hear is the hissing and huffing and the only thing making that sound is the air. Also once they start developing caruncles(the red stuff on their face) the males will generally have a lot more ot it than the girls.

I'm not sure on your #1 maybe if you uploaded a picture taken from the front it would be easier to tell but 2 and 3 definitely look like girls to me, Muscovy are the only ducks I have and all of mine are girls :p

Are 2 and 3 about the same size? or is one bigger than the other? They both looked like girls to me at first but now looking closer it looks like 2 might be a male and 3 a girl? But if they are the same size they are prolly both girls.
And for the size, it’s hard to tell too. These 4 look huge compared to the mallards or even the blue Swedish. But you might be right. The Pekin is enormous and probably one of the other 3 a bit more than the other two.

Great. So far only one curly tail in one blue Swedish!

Muscovy tend to be bigger than regular ducks :D with the exception of some meat breeds like Pekin and the such ^^

Yes this is true but only for the males, my females are all 3 under 5lbs
Thank you both. Given we found then very small in the suburban, with ponds around, I was initially thinking of a mixed breed. You always have Pekins in these ponds, and Pekins are huge too. But these ones have red flesh around their nose and green feathers.

Haha yeah definitely muscovy they look very different than any other duck, but they really are beautiful their feathers have all kinds of green and purple shine.
