Okay...so here's the situation.

Between ordering through the mail and by process of 'chicken math' obtained chicks from two different private breeders, we ended up with 19 chicks total. All are supposed to be pullets. I've posted pics of my most suspect chick that I believe is a roo in another thread but I have some other suspicious characters sulking about the brooder box. My husband says that I'm nuts and while we -may- have one roo, no way do we have more then that. My gut says that we do...but I'll let you experts have at the pictures and tell me if we need to start picking some new names....All of the chicks are around 5 1/2 weeks old....

This is our barred rock....which I'm pretty sure is a roo. It's name was Bailey but we've got the name Loki ready to go if the masses think he is indeed a boy.

And finally, one that I'm pretty sure is a girl but I thought you would all enjoy the pic. This is my Light Brahma girl....Latte. I believe she is narcoleptic because she loves to sit on my lap, watch tv and fall asleep.

Okay experts....do I have more then one roo? Who do I need to find new names for? =-)

I don't see any roos, but I'm only really familiar with the golden campine. Before anyone tries to say her comb is too big, know that GC's combs grow really, really fast and by then a roo would be all red and twice the size. Look at the Campine chicken thread under the breed forum or my BYC page...I have a GC who I suspected was a roo and went to the breed thread and they all assured me she was perfectly normal. Then I saw a 4-week-old roo and knew mine was definitely a girl

All girls. Especially the BR. She is very dark in the barring area and has thin legs with black wash down the front. If she is acting "roo-ish", it's probably because she is dominant. Very cute chicks!
