Gender First Impressions, 4 wks

New batch of chicks! They're 4 wks old today. Still seems a bit early to me but I'm starting to get ideas and I thought I'd share. They're hatchery stock, SLW, Easter Egger, Light Brahma, Welsummer. Pretty sure the Welsummer is a Pullet. Easter Egger matured much faster than the other three, and I think pullet on that one too but uh, I'm not 100%! I really have no idea about the Brahma. The SLW I think is a cockerel. Would love to hear what you guys think

Male welsummers will have black breast feathers while females have light brown/salmon feathers. The SLW does not appear to have any "bubbling" of the comb so it is most likely a female. ("Bubbling" is a term I use for Rose Combed chickens. When the chicks are young, roosters will begin to have little bumps appear on their comb, like bubbles, along with reddening.) The EEs and the Brahma both have the Pea comb type. If you notice any reddening or the development of the "three-rows", the chick is likely a rooster. EEs roosters are known to have rusty colored wing feathers when they are young.
