Were you not also Team Cockerel for my dear Sylvia? .... Yes, yes you were. And I totally got my hopes up. I had grand plans of using Sylvia and Ivy to make beautiful little pet-quality Wyandotte chickies, and thereby take over the world.

And just look how that turned out.

In my case, I really do have two dramatically different looking females. The known female looks more mottled, smaller, cute and submissive ...bc she's just not a very good example of the breed. The one that we questioned, side by side, did have more red in the comb, and very different feathers, because she actually has recognizable lacing. That's all.

I believe (from stalking other wyandotte threads) by this point there would be a noticable color difference in the head and neck feathers.

Chickens sure are annoyingly fun sometimes when it comes to determining genders lol
Right now we have two silkies in addition to the two in this post so lots of waiting to see

I’ll grab more pictures of both birds today

This is my blue gold laced Wyandotte around that age she has no wattles. The wyandotte is a cockerel.

Vs. the Cockerel on this thread, similar ages. Note the completely different feathers pattern starting to come in as well, like a black collar or patch at the base of the neck.
