Gender?

Wyandotte #5 I have no idea. But with my luck probably a rooster also.

What are yalls thoughts on the barred rocks? They only had barred rock pullets for sale, how often does a rooster get thrown in accidentally? I would be happy if he ends up being a rooster, he is very sweet so he is staying either way.

The lighter one definitely looks like a male. Most hatchery sexed chickens are about 90% accurate so there will be some mistakes. I know when our TSC had barred rock pullets I could tell there were quite a few males in there.

It looks like you are correct on all of them! Wyandotte #1 is a cockerel, #2 is a cockerel, #3 is as well, #4 is a pullet, #5 is a cockerel, and #6 is a pullet. I also had that same thing happen with me as your BRs. I bought two pullets from Orschelns, and one turned out to be a roo!

Great! :D I was really second guessing myself with most of them. Never had rose combs before.

I'm glad I'm in that 10%! Hahaha I'm so happy to have a good little sweet rooster, and it just so happens he's pretty flashy too.

Was hoping for a few more wyandotte hens, but I guess that's what you get with straight run chicks. Might be a good thing though, I don't really like them that much.

I have heard Rhode Island's are wild. But my two are very flighty and scared of being handled. And I even hand raised them all inside for a few weeks. It's cool to see how different breeds have different personalities. But the Barred rock is definitely my favorite by far, personality and looks.

Thanks everyone!!

These are the two Rhode Island Reds. The one I am pretty sure is the rooster is the first one, he has been getting picked on the most by all the mean Wyandotte Roos. He's looking rough, so I will separate them today once I figure out boys from girls.

The second pic I am pretty sure is a hen.

These are the two barred rocks. The first pic is the one I think is a boy. His stripes are larger, and he is lighter colored now that you mention it. I just assumed since they are low quality hatchery chicks from TSC, they were just inconsistent colored.

The second picture I think is a girl.

Wyandotte #1 Bad attitude and most likely a rooster.

Wyandotte #2 bad attitude, probably a rooster.

Wyandotte #4 This one isn't as mean. More dull comb. I'm hoping a hen.

Wyandotte #5 I have no idea. But with my luck probably a rooster also.

Wyandotte #6 last one. I think it's a hen. She is not mean. But I have no idea on this one either.

All your guesses seem correct so far. Please post again in a couple weeks for me to be absolutely sure.
