Yes, Americana, as in Easter Egger, from Hoover's, but what might she be mixed with? Or what her color is called?

I know on their site they say a blend of Amerucana and Arucana ?

Thanks for any suggestions.

She is probably a mix of Easter Eggers with more Easter Eggers, tracing back through many generations of Easter Eggers. Other than what Hoovers says of starting with Ameraucana and Araucana, I have no idea what else might be mixed into that Easter Egger flock. (nothing? lots of breeds? no clue.)

As regards the name of the color, I'm not sure it has an official name, but it is pretty common among Easter Eggers. It is similar to a Black Breasted Red or Duckwing color (the color found in Welsummers and Brown Leghorns and Black Breasted Red Old English Game Bantams, with Silver Duckwing being the silver version of the same pattern.) Your chick is not exactly the same as the ones I named, but somewhat resembles them. It seems to be a common result when chicken colors are mixed, and then the mixes are allowed to interbreed for several generations without being selected for any specific color or pattern.

Thanks : )

She reminds us of our AustraNugget (Australorp/Orpington) on colors lol 😂 genetics have always been fun to follow for me, ever since grade school when we did the cat diagram lol the barring and different patterns are so growing on me! (Gotta collect them all haha)

Have you found the chicken genetics calculator?
http://kippenjungle.nl/chickencalculator.html

It can calculate offspring from a cross, but I usually just change the genes in the dropdown boxes and watch the chicken pictures change.

There are also some genetics pages I find useful:
http://www.sellers.kippenjungle.nl/page0.html
This one has links to a few others. The third one has a table of genes, with a little bit about each one. The second one has a longer discussion of some of them. The first one is about genetics in general, but you probably know most of what it says.
