I'm getting a Lavender Orpington Chick. I think he is about one month old, somewhere around that Age. Anyway, I have never raised an Orpington (that I know of), so I was looking for Tips on how to raise them. I have had a couple of Aggressive roosters in my flock before. And we currently have a half-time? aggressive one, So I'd like to avoid getting another one. So if can anyone give me Tips on How to Raise a Lavender Orpington Rooster Chick and avoid getting an Aggressive Rooster. That would be great, Thank you. Bye

Put him in with older hens right away. They will boss him around and put him in his place (don’t stop them let them do their thing). This is how chickens teach young cockerels manners and how to behave respectfully.
Thank you! We currently have a Brooder Hen (not so much broody anymore) that just raised 3 silkie chicks, so I'm guessing put him with her?

Unless she is incredibly tolerant and maternal she is unlikely to accept any newcomer at this point. A 1 month old chick is likely too old to accept a "mom" at this point as well.

You need to integrate him in as you would any other chick.

Definitely integrate with others his size! DON'T put with the adults. I personally do a side by side pen for a couple of weeks, then I do supervised visits, usually start at 20-30 mins then extend each day usually for a week but depending on flock dynamics this could change, then I gradually start less supervising. Until I see that everyone is getting along, no bullying, etc. From experience, don't put with that mama hen. If she already has chicks she won't accept him as he's too old. If a hen is broody and hasn't had eggs hatch, then possibly. But that is a far stretch.... Is there anyone similar in age that he could hang with? Or I would suggest similar in size. At this point I have 1 Lavender Orpington but its 9-10 wks at this point. Although I am shocked as its really flighty, not at all like my other (Chocolate) Orpington's. I don't really do anything different with that one compared to my other chicks. I would suggest if you want a friendly one, just handle them a lot. But that is more a personal preference. I hope some of that helps.

If you want it to be friendly it helps if they trust you more. Holding the rooster doesn't always help, But the longer you spend with the rooster the better. When its older avoid sitting down close to him.

Makes sense, thanks Delphene! ♥️
