getting rid of the paper towels??

Hi all,

My babies are 1 week old today.

I still have the papertowels over the pine shavings in the brooder.

When is it ok to take them off??

They did find them the other day and had quite the party in there!

Should I be worried about them eating the shavings at this point?

They are on chick starter food and do not have any grit.

What do you think??

At one week old, I would say...take away the paper towels. They know by now what, and where the food is. They might grab a few pieces and run with it, like a new toy. But dont worry...they should be fine by now.
