Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Oz that is very very nice... do you paint or stain to help it weather? I am thinking of the nails I saw him tapping in... I love bamboo. I would love something like that for wind screens at my house actually... or the look of it...

once the bamboo is has dried for a few months, it will get a coat of paint.

i dont think Mrs Oz would let me use the orange paint left over from the brooder though

I can see 4 or 5 more gallons of chocolate brown paint in our future,

How thick is the bamboo? If it was about 4-5mm it could probably be bent if you soak it properly first. Sea water would probably cure it nicely.

great thoughts

i have never seen full thickness bamboo woven

in this situation, i am balancing durability and cost.

typically locals know the best methods to achieve the balance

I'm thinking the nails will give up pretty quickly with the salty air, that's why I'm suggesting the weaving. But it's true, the workload would probably increase significantly. You could try it small scale though, and see how labor intensive it is.

i will try that in phase 3000+ LOL

One day we will have time to experiment. Right now, we are seroiusly trying to just keep everything afloat.

Dodong is working well. He has the carpenter there now, though he thinks he can get everything done himself lol.

Ariel and Lillian are a worry but we have just given them a pretty serious sit down. The chat seems to have aligned them more to our expectations.

I have advertised accross the country for an Ag Student and the only email I have had so far is from what looks like an internet scammer girl trying to become my "friend"

Atleast its amusing:
