Exactly. I had to do this to be sure I'm getting 100% pure silkies. Out of my silkies, 2 Mixes, & 1 Satin came out of it, while the rest were all silkie. In order to be 100% certain on the fatger, you would have to keep the hens separated from all males besides the desired one for over 3 weeks.
Ok that makes senses. Good luck!!Because I don't have a bachelor pad made up, & my grandpa won't let me set up anymore coops until he passes away. But it's okay, I have a plan for next year, to get better results.
Wait what? You can do AI on a chicken? How would you do that on a chickens? So you're using Artificial Insemination instead of natural breeding? How many years will you think this project will take you to complete?
So you want Giant Fuzzy Meatballs?
Will love to see how your birds turn out.
My Giant Silkies will have themselves a good Meaty Build, Good Egg Production, Broodiness, & Attractive Silkie Features.

He is like a giant Mr Noodles!
He looks almost like Bigfoot, my Mille Fleur D'uccle/OEGB X Silkie cross. I need to get updated pictures of him.Mr. Noodles before he went to moms. I'll get some updated ones of him, when I make my way to the barn.

Yes, it's possible. It can be abit tricky to extract sperm from a rooster, but it's doable.Wait what? You can do AI on a chicken? How would you do that on a chickens?![]()
