Most people want the bantams because they're small and cute.
True.
Most believe all silkies are Bantams in the bin, or at least can't tell the difference.

I've got a few Malay eggs in the incubator that maybe fertilized by a Silkie Rooster, so those will be the second set of F1s.

There's also a possibility some maybe fertilized by an EE rooster, those will be used for my other project.

There's also a possibility they maybe fertilized by a Heritage Plymouth Barred Rock, or Marans/American Game cross rooster. Which will also be used for my other project.

I got mine out of the bin at TSC. I just snagged up the big beardless ones.
Were you able to check for silkie-type feathers? Or are they still too young for that?

I'm sure you've seen the many threads about mis-labeled chicks at TSC... :D

All are Silkies.

Here's one of the big babies I snatched up.

I put pink dots on ones I'm keeping.

The silkies I got at TSC, were 1½ week old when I bought them, they're now 3½ weeks old now, & look like 4-5 week old chicks. These babies grew fast.
I'll get pictures tomorrow if I got time. Also, they're huge.
