Giant Silkie Project.

Does This Sound Like A Good Idea Silkie Lovers?

I'm in a Silkie Group(Facebook), there was a thread discussing how much to charge for a good quality Silkie, & they think they should be overpriced even with how common they are, after I added how much I charge for mine which is usually around a couple bucks per bird, & the fact I base my pricing on rarity.
Gave an example for rarity with Indian Malays(Malays can go for $2,400), & someone was like: Even a RIR is more then that, probably more common.

This project is designed to create giant fluffy chickens.

Who doesn't love Silkies, & wish they had some the size of Brahmas?

I have both Silkies, & Brahmas, color patterns isn't a concern until Silkie feathering, 5 toes, & black skin are produced.

I'll only be using my largest Silkie cockerels/roosters to breed with my Brahmas.

Pictures of my large Silkie cockerels.

nice.

Well, looks like one of my Silkie/Malay cross chicks is a Cockerel. One thing that confuses me is that it's a Fibro Sexlink like it's Sibling, & half siblings, & shares female fibro linkage, but is getting red on it's back like a Cockerel would, & the breast feathers are like that of a pullet.

I'll be curious to see how it looks as it gets older yet.

I see why you think it's a cockerel, but I also see why it "should" be a pullet, so I don't know what it really is  I suppose you can't go by comb color, because that will just be black.
