GIANT SNAKE = bye bye egg production.

I had my first broody hatch this spring. Only 3 chicks hatched. I was so excited! One day I heard a hen throwing a fit in the coop. I opened the door and a 7 foot bull snake had ate one of the chicks and already killed a second. The hen was running in circles with the one little baby that was left chasing after her. I never shoot bull snakes. They do me a service keeping rodents at bay. In this case I didn't think or care. I charged back in the house, grabbed a shot gun, flew past my girlfriend (who didn't bother asking questions and just looked the other way) and I made sure that was the last thing he ate. That's the only bull snake I've ever killed. If they're near my coop I just keep an eye on them and make sure they move on, but if I could have brought that one back to life, just so I could kill it again I would have.
