Girl or boy? 12 week BO

If it was older it would probably be a hen. But since it's only 12 weeks it's probably a cockerel with that much comb development

Looks like an oversized Pullet. I see no pointy hackle, or saddle feathers. Comb just looks really pink, not a bright red. My orpy, cross cockerel at 12 weeks for example.

Perhaps it is an early maturing pullet - feathering is not cockerel specific. Don't be in a hurry to get rid of the bird; although, it may prove to be a cockerel nothing is definitive at the present time.

The first picture makes it look like a boy, but the second looks like a girl! Star has us all confused

She/he is still a baby. Freshly hatched labor day weekend. We live in the country so it doesn't matter either way.

I’m still going with cockerel. I’ve never seen a pullet with such a red comb at 4 weeks old. A Leghorn pullet will have a big comb at that age but it won’t be red.

Saddle feathers start to grow in from 12 weeks, so I’m not surprised he doesn’t have any yet.
