I don’t think she said anything about May...Labor Day was sept. 2nd this year. Not even Leghorns are red at 4 weeks old. But I am questioning the age of the Orpington, 12 weeks old but bought in May?

Maybe 11 weeks. My chicks are 10 weeks today. They hatched one week after labor day.that would mean its 9 weeks old this makes no sense that bird is full grown
One of my BO is pretty big. The biggest of all the girls. Much larger than the Wyandottes. The Easter egger cockerel is my largest. He is just huge!i thought orpingtons grew slow lol
September 1stWhen exactly did you buy the Buff Orpington? I Googled Labor Day 2019 and it says 1st May which would put the bird in question at 25+ weeks old. Which would mean she is a ready to lay pullet.
September, not MayNot even Leghorns are red at 4 weeks old. But I am questioning the age of the Orpington, 12 weeks old but bought in May?
